Privacy Policy (NanoLocker)
Last updated: February 20, 2026
1. Overview
NanoLocker ("NanoLocker", "we", "us", or "our") is a macOS app that helps users protect access to selected apps. We are privacy-first by design: core lock data and intruder photos stay on your device.
This policy explains what data is processed when you use NanoLocker and how that data is handled.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- The NanoLocker macOS application.
- Support communications you send to us (for example, by email).
3. Data We Process
3.1 Data stored locally on your Mac (not sent to NanoLocker servers)
NanoLocker stores app data locally in your app sandbox and/or macOS secure storage, including:
- App protection settings (for example, blocked app list, monitoring preferences, language).
- Intruder Selfie photos (only if you enable this PRO feature).
- Master password (stored in macOS Keychain).
- Local app state related to premium status.
NanoLocker does not upload this local data to NanoLocker-operated servers.
3.2 Authentication data (Touch ID / biometrics)
When you use Touch ID, authentication is handled by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework and Secure Enclave. NanoLocker does not receive, collect, or store your biometric template.
3.3 In-App Purchases
NanoLocker uses Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases.
- Apple processes payment and billing information under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
- NanoLocker does not receive your full card or payment credentials.
- The app may read transaction/entitlement state locally to unlock PRO features.
3.4 Support communications
If you contact us (for example, at [email protected]), we process the information you provide (such as email address and message content) to respond and provide support.
4. Permissions and Why They Are Used
- Camera permission: used only for Intruder Selfies when the feature is enabled and an unlock attempt fails.
- Biometric authentication (Touch ID): used only to unlock protected apps when requested by the user.
You can revoke permissions anytime in macOS System Settings.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your on-device lock data, passwords, or intruder photos with third-party advertisers or analytics providers.
Limited data may be processed by Apple as necessary to provide App Store and StoreKit services (for example, purchase processing), under Apple's privacy policy.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset app data, or uninstall the app.
- Intruder photos remain on-device until deleted by you.
- Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and related operational/legal needs.
You can delete local app data using in-app reset features and by uninstalling the app.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You can:
- Choose which apps to protect.
- Enable/disable Intruder Selfies.
- Revoke camera access in macOS System Settings.
- Use app reset options to clear local data.
- Contact us to request deletion of support-related data you submitted to us directly.
8. International Users
If you contact support, your message may be processed in countries where our support providers operate. We apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data processed.
9. Children's Privacy
NanoLocker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data under our control. Sensitive authentication information is handled using platform security features (for example, macOS Keychain and Secure Enclave pathways).
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure; however, we continuously work to reduce risk.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and publish the revised policy at this URL.
